Dr. Scott Thorne

Dr. Scott Thorne is a Wyoming native. He graduated from Sheridan High School then went on to earn an Associate of Applied science in Welding from Sheridan College.  After working as a welder for a few years, Dr. Thorne continued his education to earn a Bachelor of Science in Zoology & Physiology from the University of Wyoming.  He and his wife Christine spent some time in North Dakota, where he ultimately decided to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine.   In 2000 Dr. Thorne began his studies at Colorado State University completing a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. 

While practicing small animal medicine, Dr. Thorne has had the opportunity and privilege to work with many esteemed multi doctor practices in both Pennsylvania and Wyoming.  These opportunities have allowed Dr. Thorne advancement in routine and preventative medical care, internal medicine, dental and oral surgery, and critical care. Specific clinical interests are dermatology, endocrinology, and a variety of soft tissue surgical procedures. 

In his spare time, Dr. Thorne enjoys spending time with his family.  Dr. Thorne’s wife, Christine and their three beautiful daughters, Madeline, Katie, and Sydney enjoy camping, hiking, ice skating, bowling, and swimming. Over the past fifteen years, the Casper community has become their home.  The entire Thorne family is involved in Casper Alliance Church and their Bible study small groups. During the cold months of the year Dr. Thorne enjoys playing ice hockey with the Casper storm Hockey club.  In the warm months he enjoys playing the occasional game of golf. 

Ark Animal Hospital is excited to have Dr. Thorne continue to provide quality and compassionate care to the Casper community.  We look forward to continuing a legacy of building relationships with all of our clients and their animal companions.
